Yet another “best in the world” list…

the “World’s 50 Best Bars” list was announced today, and leading the pack at number 1 is two-year old SIPS at Muntaner 108 in Barcelona, run by Simone Caporale & Marc Álvarez.

Caporale was part of the creative duo that made London’s Artesian the winner 4 times.
Álvarez spent a decade with Adrià´s El Barri group.

SIPS is open Tuesday through Saturday from 6:30 pm until 2 am.

In fourth place came last year’s leader, PARADISO, at Carrer de Rera Palau, 4 in Barcelona.

I’ll be in Barcelona a few days at the end of the year, and will try to get to at least one of these spots!

Congrats to the SIPS team. Great to see Spain recognized. We were there last year and it was a nice experience.

Having been to almost all of the bars in Bangkok, Singapore and Tokyo, it’s still baffling their choices from these cities given the alternatives.
