Lobster cocktail, porterhouse, onion rings, creamed spinach ![]()
what a nice menu.
I would order the stilton, bacon and walnut salad, or shrimp cocktail, to start.
If I had only one visit, I would order the Dover Sole or duck leg. I’d order Sirloin and Chips on a another visit. I’m also curious about the chicken and artichoke pie.
I would order the Burnt Cream, Chocolate pot, Bread and Butter pudding, or Apple Crumble for dessert.
The set menus look nice.
Asparagus and onion tart to start (I’m assuming I have a dining companion … maybe?), and then for me one of the pies – probably the fish one – even though that kind of overlaps with the onion tart. Because we don’t get savory pies around here and I’m a big fan. Maybe some roasted carrots or cabbage on the side to round things out? Sounds like a heavy meal so I guess we’ll need a glass of something nice on the side to help ![]()
Really cute place too, hidden away in a corner just off Kensington High St and Kensington Church St.
I used to go there as a cheeky lunchbreak treat when I worked a literal two minute walk away - when I wasn’t getting steak tartare from Cote or a cheeseboard at the bar in Wholefoods.
Long time since I last visited… I’d probably go for the prawn cocktail followed by the rabbit ![]()
Lots of tempting stuff on there. I’d almost certainly go for either the arctic char or black cod. “Big side” of the tempura vegetables, assuming that I’m not dining alone. (Those sound more like starters? Either way, fried pickles almost never miss the mark.)
Macha burger and caesar salad ![]()
