Drove past on our way for excellent ice cream after dinner Friday and they seemed busy.
yeah -curious to try one of these days. But def seems like they are doing better job than R&B’s. One of these days when Barnacle Bill’s is just too crowded I might head there to try; compare the burgers.
Our friends have been raving about the burgers that they got for takeout during the pandemic & finally convinced us to meet for dine in yesterday evening. The place was running on all cylinders & am looking forward to returning. BTW the 4 of us had burgers + 1 onion soup & 2 salads (drinks of course).
Just a follow up from last year. This has become my favorite go to place. Twice I had the Pork Chop Milanese (butterflied pork chop is crispy with baby arugula, cherry tomatoes, onion, shaved parmigiano with a balsamic drizzle) & more recently (2 weeks in a row) the Swordfish Special (local swordfish, herb-crusted, pan seared with brown butter and crispy capers, blistered heirloom cherry tomatoes, wilted spinach and jasmine rice). The Romaine Wedge Salad (romaine, praline-pecan bacon, blue cheese crumbles, roasted yellow tomatoes, onions, Russian dressing) is a delicious salad. French bread & herb butter is always brought to the table & they have Kane Head High my favorite local IPA on tap.
I want to like this place and the menu looks good, esp the pork Milanese. However, three times now we’ve tried to order food to go, both online and in person, and each time they have been unable to take our order. Want to be understanding given current reality, but three strike now.
Shame bc it sounds like a great spot
Well, we finally made it here. Really enjoyed it. Had never been to WYB to compare the interior, but it def had a cool kinda rustic vibe going. Prob arrived for last seating of the night at 830pm in a sat night. Place was still pretty full, cpl large tables cleared out within 20 min or so, by time we left only a handful or tables remained and a cpl people at the bar.
Waitress was good, only complaint was the constant up selling aka would you like don Julio in that margarita, placing dessert menus on table rather than asking if we wanted. But she was attentive and pleasant overall.
Food was very good. Started with the wonderful bread and herb butter with our drinks. Shared a nice salad with arugula, spiced pecans, goat cheese, and beets. Really refreshing and the shared portion was still ample. Offered and accepted fresh cracked pepper @NotJrvedivici!! Lol
Mains were swordfish special over rich and spinach with a lemon sauce. Really knockout dish
I had perk chop Milanese. Very good crisp coating and juicy. Only complaint and a minor one was it was a bit thick, I’m used to Milanese being quite thin. Salad atop the chop was a good complement with the balsamic glaze cutting a bit of the richness of the meat. Fries were very good alongside it.
Overall a really great experience and def a place I look forward to going back to. Want to try the burger I hear people talking up. Really happy to see they’ve put together a plus spot after what we all saw going on here a few years ago!
New special alert! Monkfish pan-roasted with fresh tomatoes and herbs, zucchini ribbons, hand-cut potato wedges. I had it last evening & it was fabulous. Our friend ordered the short ribs & it looked like she thoroughly enjoyed them. Slow-braised boneless beef short ribs, red wine demi glaze, baby carrots and wilted greens, roasted-garlic whipped potatoes.
