The UK's Good Food Guide 2021

There won’t be one. Official.

I find the Guide more helpful in finding good quality restaurants then relying on looking for places with Michelin stars. But I wonder if Michelin will award stars this year - in the UK or elsewhere?

Yeah, I think Michelin are still thinking. Problem is restaurants will only be more lively probably after June.

In the UK, Michelin publish the stars around September. Assuming they start inspecting again round about the time of the previous year’s announcement, they would have several months before we locked down in March. I’m sure our restaurants are not going to be opening any time soon. The problem is that there’s the likelihood of places closing permanently - it would be silly for Michelin to award a star to somewhere that’s already effectively gone out of business. So, I don’t think they’ll do it this year.
