The Switzerland Survival Guide

Had an amazing two weeks touring Switzerland last month. Food was a mixed bag as expected. The touristy nature of the towns made it particularly challenging to find good eats but we managed. Zermatt was the biggest challenge. A lot of Italian eateries all over the country, but few that we saw actually owned by Italians. You can find yourself in a town like Thun for a example and see nothing but Italian and barber shops all over. Plate sizes are fairly large. The 4 of us were able to share a few apps and three mains in many places. High quality free bread just about everywhere. And really fantastic Gelato everywhere including in the most touristy of places surprisingly.
Our itinerary in case anywhere interested…

Lucerne 3
Wengen 4
Zermatt 3
Montreux 2
Bern 1

This was in/out of Zurich.

Ideally, if you can fly out of Geneva, a better plan would be Montreux 3, and see Bern as a day trip from Lucerne. That was our original plan. More to come.
