How much does French Onion Soup costing where you live or visit?
French Onion Soup in Sept 2024 is costing $14 CAD (for a small one at Chantecler at brunch) -$ 22ish CAD in Toronto.
$25 USD at Petit Trois in Los Angeles
It’s not something I see very often on a menu. That may be because I think there’s only one specifically French restaurant in the metro area and it doesnt have it on the menu.
I have found it on the menu of a national chain restaurant, Cote, which used to have a branch in Manchester but they closed it. Costs £7.75 - which is about what I’d expect to pay for most starters at that level of restaurant.

Wow, I just glanced at 10 or so random spots here in Portland, ME that we had either dined at or my brother chefed at or I knew of by rep, Only one (The Front Room) had it at $11 for a “crock”. Seems to that it was ALWAYS on the menu everywhere but McD’s. The rest all clam/seafood chowder from $6.25 to $8 for a cup. (not surprising for our seafood obsessed port city).
