The Pantry Thread - What’s in Your’s?

As promised, a pantry thread some of us have been talking about. Pics of inside pantry to follow shortly. As the light has gone now, I’ll take pics of the garage pantries tomorrow to post. Things for me are relatively less than fully stocked, since I haven’t been shopping. H is not the hunter-gatherer that I am, although my “sale” buying has rubbed off on him a bit I think.

Ok, here you go, inside pantry and shelves.

Very low overcast here all day, and the lighting in the garage is poor. Will try to post pics of outside pantries tomorrow or soonest.

Low light again today, but will open garage door and see if I can get decent light to snap pics. Please note that neither my indoor nor outdoor pantries have had any advanced organizing before their photo shoot. :upside_down_face:

Well we had a beautiful sun break here! Opened the garage for good light and got outside pantry pics, canning pantries, and canning supply areas. Was working on a major clean out until mid December, which came to a halt around then.

Decided to get pics of the dedicated freezer and fridge freezer in garage too.

Sorry for the wonky pictures, had trouble uploading too. You get the idea.

May I ask how many you are at your place? A lot of food!

Embarrassing to admit @naf; just two of us, but the girls join us for dinner maybe a couple times a month, often separately. Many times we cook extras, and send them leftovers for a couple lunches, or H will often take lunch to youngest, who works for same company, when he has to make the long commute. Although we’re two, I still shop for 4! This will be a good time to use what I have rather than provision, I think. Would like to get a few shelf stable things though…

Here’s my pic from last time. Not much has changed. It occurs to me I don’t cook from the pantry much. Two of us here as well.

But I’ll be adding these things my son brought me from Turkey today! A fourteen hour flight. :astonished: :mask:

Bottom left are Maras pepper and baharat .

Kekik is thyme…,or oregano! , and son thinks the brown stuff is hazelnuts. Brightly colored package on right is a “traditional” streetfood snack mix, but I thought it had meat, and this one doesn’t. It reminds me of a codfish cake mix from Jamaica that had no codfish.

Turns out what I called baharat actually contains several different spices, separated in sections. Better picture tommorow…or later today.

And Turkish olive oil! It has dates (as in month and year)!

My MIL cooks the same way, she grows up in a big family, and used to cook for many… even now, when she cooks, she cannot cook for 2, needs to cook for 8 and eats for days.

Much is missing from their list.

Agreed. I also think there are items that are unnecessary on the list.
