I had a snack at the Ice Cream Bar yesterday. The Ice Cream Bar is a photogenic ice cream parlor that opened back in 2012 in Cole Valley. In addition to ice cream scoops and sundaes, they have boozy shakes and classic soda fountain treats like phosphates and handmade sodas.

I had a Royal Red ($14.50) which is a shake that has Duchesse de Bourgogne beer, Osborne PX Sherry, morello cherry ice cream, and turbinado syrup. It was very good. It tasted like a sour cherry milkshake, with tartness from the Duchesse beer, a sour Flemish ale.
