I’d get a Chef Boyardee pizza in a box but I’m guessing they’re all gone. It’s one of the first things I cooked as a child.
Yeah, I loved those boxed pizza mixes too. I also liked & get once a year cravings for Chef Boyardee Ravioli. Sometimes I eat it cold out of the can with lots of black pepper. That’s all the food dirt I can cough up for today…
Don’t get them often but Spaghetti O’s can be destination dining, from living room to kitchen and back.
I’m sure all of them were wiped out during the first wave of panic buying.
Chef Boyardee pizza is still available.
OMFG! My first boyfriend way way WAY long ago used to make these and eat the entire pie when he got home from work at 3:30pm. AND THEN he’d have a full dinner when I got home from my work and cooked a real dinner. LOL (He was a stringbean and could eat anything without gaining weight. Grrrr…)
Willie Nelson has lead a very interesting life.
He’s been there, done that and everything else in between. A true survivor. Hard to not like a guy like that.
I made a couple a little over a year ago. I’m speculating that with all the stay at home families the supply would be gone. I know if I had children I’d want them to make one and introduce them to the joys of cooking.
Uh oh @BoneAppetite - think the cookbook collection has grown by one just now. That will be two today…another package I’ll have to cleverly intercept. Keeps things interesting around here. But it IS for a good cause, right??
Wanted to mention the cookbook @BoneAppetite mentioned upthread, All the Thyme in the World, is available, and with free shipping, but all orders for the 1st edition must be received by June 1st. $25 and for a great cause.
Thanks again @BoneAppetite, and my husband especially thanks you too, for bringing this to my attention!
Why was that awful stuff so good? I liked it right out of the can.
Absolutely thrilled SpaceX had a successful launch! I’m choosing to regard it as a good omen for the future.
Also, please join me in hoping for peace and equality in our very troubled country, as well as for all who share the planet.
Fingers crossed we are able to adapt to Covid and journey through this awful pandemic also.
Seattle is on fire, and things are getting ugly. I’m thankful it’s raining.
I realize very little good news with this post, but I’m reaching deep.
With you there. You’re having a bad time at present. We’re a much smaller country and don’t have as many deaths involving police actions. But, when we do, the victim is almost invariably a member of the African/Caribbean community (terrorist events aside). It’s a worrying thing when you know that community only represents about 3% of our population.
Thanks @Harters, I knew you’d get it. Let’s hope things change in our respective, beloved countries. Wishing you a wonderful and positive rest of your weekend, and upcoming week.
Oh, breathing a sigh of relief no one died in the violence in Seattle last night, although there were injuries.
You too, Lambchop. Peaceful week for everyone.
First of all, Happy Anniversary. Secondly, I just want to add that the Central Park Schaefer Concerts were 3-4 times per week in the late '60s, not just Wednesdays. And, if you didn’t want to spend the $1 for seats, there were bleachers set up for $.50. And, for those of us larcenous teens, there was a hole in the fence that we used to sneak in. Or we sat on “the rock” outside the fence, which afforded a great view. I saw tons of shows there and at the Fillmore East & then at Stony Brook, when I actually made it to college in '70 (including The Who outdoors on the lawn for free & the Grateful Dead on Halloween night). Hundreds of concerts rattling around in my somewhat fragmented memory. Again, Happy Anniversary.
Yes, I’d forgotten. We sat on the rock too. I know we were there a lot, couldn’t say how many times a week.
Such a beautiful woman with a voice to match. I love her version of “Pancho and Lefty.”
You know, I still love it about once a year. In fact, wish I had a can right now…
Remembered another junky thing I thought was great. The Lipton instant chicken noodle soup packets with the tiny little noodles. Anytime my friends & I could get our hands on that, we thought it was fine dining! Don’t think I could handle the sodium load now though. Same with the Lipton Onion Soup Dip. We thought we were pretty fancy when we added chopped, canned clams to it.
