Went freezer diving today in an attempt to throw out whatever is not necessary as it is starting to overflow due to an abundance of meat and essentials (it is also an incredibly small freezer) and I found a pack of filet mignon! I bought it late February and totally forgot it was in there! Looking to make it Tuesday night.

I also threw out three half-eaten tubs of ice cream and I cannot for the life of me figure out why we had that much, since none of us are big ice cream eaters. Space gained and mission accomplished.

Like you I find the clapping a bit awkward, being British. My sister’s a nurse and I do worry about her but the clapping doesn’t come naturally. Agree about delivery drivers and dustbin men. I’m not the biggest fan of my local council but the rubbish keeps being collected. I’m a key worker and am lucky as I can work from home at present (this may well change) but some of my colleagues have to travel into work.

What an under-rated artist he was in his lifetime, IMO. Sad he died so young @Rooster.

Had a very fun virtual HH with friends, mostly from Oregon, one from SFBA. Too many people, so it devolved at times, but one thing I gleaned - in Oregon now, due to the crisis, you can order marijuana & have it delivered!!

Talked to bro in Fairbanks AK & he mentioned a fascinating article he read in the paper he has delivered. I went to look it up and discovered the paper has an entire, regular section devoted to marijuana. Kind of amazing!

Know I talk about it a lot, but can only use topically for arthritis. It does help, which is fantastic. Too many adverse events with any other forms, strains or varieties & I’m done experimenting. Biodiversity is fascinating!

Found a couple N95 masks in the garage from a painting project a couple years ago! Suspect the garage is a treasure trove of stuff we’ve totally forgotten! Who knows, there could could be a 100 rolls of toilet paper out there…

I did the same last week. Put on the freezer dive gear and dove to the depths . I harvested 90 percent . 60 percent went to the wildlife . The other 30 to the land fill . Visibility is very clear now .

These are called Glassy Baby’s and are a ā€œthingā€ up here in the Seattle area. Both were gifted to H by his boss. The concept comes from a 3 time cancer survivor, and were created as a symbol of hope. $3 from each purchase goes to charity. The pictures don’t do them justice, but they are hand blown, and truly beautiful. I like to use small battery operated tea lights in them; plan to put them in front windows during these dark times. Anyway, they make an excellent gift, have great names, and come in dozens of colors, Also good for people living in small spaces. Downside is they are a bit $$.

Need to add that I’m not affiliated with this company in any way whatsoever, don’t know anyone who works there, and haven’t checked the charity out even. For those who may be interested, the website is: www.glassybaby.com

Was very sad to hear this news; loved Bill Withers and his music. We’re losing a lot of artists just lately - so tragic

The good news is I am planning to grill this week. Looking at the last snow for weeks . 70 degree weather prediction. I’ll be looking at Rainbow ridge. Slurping wine and grilling. Cheers .

Envious of your potential 70 degree temps! We’re having cooler than normal weather, but lots of sun breaks, and whole sunny days even. Great for the mood! Hoping to score some inexpensive bone in hams, while on sale for Easter - we then put on the grill, and baste with a Dr Pepper glaze - sounds weird, but so good. The drippings and meaty bone makes the best black bean soup ever. BTW, let me know if you ever need a fantastic marinade and sauce for venison or elk roast. It is truly most sublime! How I wish I had access to fresh game. FYI, I never eat any game procured East of Idaho due to the variant of mad cow disease in the wild game populations. Caused by prions, which are mind blowing to me, and can’t be killed, even by autoclave. Surgical instruments need to be destroyed on patients that have the JK variant of the disease. You can get it by eating the flesh of affected animals, or contaminated knives and such. Certain acids, on the other hand, can kill the prions. Thank god for that.
