The Franklin Cafe

We went to The Franklin Cafe in the South End the other night for food before a show. My first time at this crowd-favorite neighborhood place. We shared three of their appetizers: The chicken wings were good except, of the six pieces we received, five of them were drumettes and only one was a flat section. Since we both vastly prefer the flats, that was a bit disappointing. The pork belly tacos were meh – the pork was dry but the kimchi they came with was tasty. The mussels, on the other hand were Great! Really great. Scott said they were among the best he’d ever had and I have to concur. Very plump, perfectly cooked, and with a fantastic broth. Our drinks were very good. All in all I liked the place and would definitely go back.
