The Food Flirts

This new PBS show debuted last night in the Boston area, where the now-octogenarian Brass sisters, Marilyn and Sheila, are familiar foodie faces. They are home cooks who appear occasionally on TV and radio when cooking is the topic, and have written cookbooks. I wasn’t expecting much, but was delighted. The format is that they visit two different restaurants, for dishes with which they aren’t familiar. Then back at home, they devise dishes that are hybrids of the foods they sampled. These are on the menu for a party they throw for the cooks from both restaurants. Cheeseburger dosas and pastrami ramen kugel looked and sounded darn appealing!
