The Costco thread 2025 [Toronto]

Anchovies are back Yeah!

Curious about the Skylar Rae Cherries. They were advertised in the latest Longo’s ad as new cherry variety that’s “quite possibly the sweetest cherry you’ll ever eat”, no price listed though.

They look a lot like Rainier or Queen Anne cherries…

Apparently they’re genetically distinct. I will have to try to find some!

Hope it’s not just hype at $15.99/box

I bought a smaller box that cost $9.99 at Sunripe Market, a small market that has locations in LondonOnt and Sarnia.

The Skylar Rae cherries I purchased were nice and firm, and unblemished. They weren’t sweeter than Rainier cherries, Bing cherries, or other sweet cherries I’ve had in Ontario or Europe.

Of course, sweetness can vary depending on heat units and rain.

They’re fine.

My local Ontario red cherries (variety unknown) were just as sweet.

The cherries from Niagara and from orchards along Lake Erie are now available. I’ll move this cherry talk off the Costco thread! LOL.

Thank you for the review. Im going to wait for Canadian cherries at Costco. They usually arrive later in the summer if I remember right.

They’re ready now, and over the next 3 weeks or so! I picked 2 sour cherries today. The Blenheim cherries are ready, too.

Today’s trip was to thorncliffe
The lobster looked enticing at that price point though I prefer to buy live and steam at home
Some products hmmm not sure I want to try ketchup almonds! Ketchup chips imo are already an acquired taste
