Was meeting family and this was a halfway spot for us. The place looked promising on the socials so we thought we would give it a shot. Happy we did.
Think nice dive bar with good food. Tables are off to the side of the bar and plenty of TV’s. It was a Thursday night and the Yanks were still alive and there was a dj for between innings and commercial breaks. Point is, this is not exactly a quiet place. That said, we could have a conversation across the 6 person table with some slightly raised voices.
Food was good to great. Possibly the only place I’ve seen panelle on a menu and the ricotta and hot honey was a nice touch for a street food.
Artichokes were tasty, sausage and brocooli rabe was good, but the eggplant was a bit of a downer. Too much sauce for our liking, I was hoping for what I know to be Sicilian style eggplant parm,
The pizzas were very good to excellent. Dough was salted nicely, and tender. Mortadella with straciatella and something I’m forgetting was excellent. The marinara with anchovies added was also very good but I did not realize they use marinated anchovies. I was not a fan of that. All in all a good, fun, meal with a nice lambrusco. I’ll be back to try some of the other menu items.
