I absolutely detested the ribbon candies and candy canes. Was always jealous of the kids that got those Lifesaver books. Actually we didn’t get much candy, but I think candy kisses were typical, along with an orange and some nuts in the stocking. Usually had a box of chocolate cherries or was gifted one. Maybe some foil wrapped chocolate covered marshmallow Santa’s. As parents, put a few things like PB mini cups, kisses, etc. which the kids mostly didn’t eat. These days just have chocolate or homemade candy if it’s gifted typically.
I like both - they are just different experiences. My mom always had a box of the jelly kind (Brachs brand, i think) in the house at Xmas when I was growing up, and the TJ’s are (IMO) a nice upgrade with the dark choc.
I’ve had a couple amazing chocolate orange ice creams before too and they made me swoon. Hard to find flavor pairing though. That and chocolate raspberry are my 2 favorites.
Same!
The red and green striped canes are the cherry flavor (Spangler brand) but I’ve seen other fruit ones too, much more colorful. There’s also a chocolate mint flavored one that’s not bad. I like to break that up and sprinkle it over the fudge I make for Christmas.
I always buy a bunch of mint ones for the tree, and end up eating only one or two.
I saw Twinkie flavored canes yesterday.
The clerk stocking the shelves and I pondered how high you have to be to think thats a good idea.
MMm… I’d say about an 8.5 if you’re over 40. 3.5 if you’re under 21.
I believe both Cheech AND Chong are scratching their heads at this one
The ones I like have multicolored stripes. They have a vague fruit flavor (ie, not a specific fruit like cherry).
