That almost fits in the French Tacos thread too!
That was very interesting!
I was especially intrigued by the part at about 13:00 where he says “24 hours” in English. I wonder if that is hard to translate well.
Wait…did I hear at 15:00 the mid east taco guy say sumac is dried pomegranate? What’s up with that?
I found this
Too bad about the mural; it’s beautiful.
I wish there was an HEB near me. There are none in AZ at all. Aren’t they all in Texas? We do have several good-to-excellent carnicerias here, though.
They’re not really good unless it’s night time and you’re pre-ethanolized, but if so, then they taste gooood
So far just Texas in the US.
I hear they were first to open at the tail end of the hurricane. I’d love an HEB here
While waiting for our order, a box of creamy guacamole that the chef whipped up was offered to our party with chips straight out of a bag. In about five minutes, cardboard boxes of hot, golden tacos hit our table, as the smell of a freshly lit spliff drifts over from next door and some fantasy-inspired, foreign electronica bats our auditory nerves around from a nearby speaker.
A more middling seafood taco in L.A. might be made with tilapia, chewy lobster, and exhausted oil, with more sodden batter breaking off in your mouth than actual meat. Razo’s seafood is deep-fried to order with the sunflower oil central to the cooking of so many former Soviet states, resulting in a sweeter, lighter, bright orange hull.
I tried a French taco here in Toronto last night.
The one I ordered was abysmal. LOL
I might give another French Taco a try some day in France.
The one I ordered was filled with breaded chicken (like chopped up nuggets - it was described as chicken breast on the menu), mushrooms and some fairly bland sauces.
It’s like a pressed flour tortilla wrap, so it is Taco in name only, and does not resemble any other Tacos in the Galaxy.
The one I ordered was pretty bland. The ingredients seem to be highly processed at this particular location. It’s possible this could be a better tasting dish at a French Taco place that was more inspired, that had better ingredients.
Before the French Taco is folded
Interior of my French Taco, called The Farmer.
This was not up my alley.
I’m lucky I have many Mexican taco options nearby!
