I was going to finally attempt to go to Swan Oyster Depot this Friday. Is my only option to minimize the wait is to arrive at 10:30 a.m.? Is there ever an afternoon, post-lunch lull?
I would say probably not. Good luck, and enjoy! For me it is worth the wait.
I walk by there every day at around 5:20-5:30 (when it closes, I believe). It’s usually nearly empty. Might be worth trying around 5?
I’ve been successful getting in with no wait around 10 AM and also very late in the day.
Also, the best time is really in the morning, because things are not crazy yet at that point, and the atmosphere is chilled out and more relaxed.
We went at 1:10 (not my idea), and the wait was 1.5 hours. However, it was worth it, in my opinion.
