I haven’t seen updates on this anywhere…going to the Shubert to see Lewis Black tomorrow night and wanted to grab some sushi first. Thoughts? Is Genki Ya decent?
Haven’t explored sushi options in the theater district, however we’ve had some excellent crudo at Legal Crossing.
We ended up at Genki Ya. It was actually quite good. Casual and bustling, but that was fine for our evening. All offerings we remarkably fresh and there were some very creative/fun maki. Even the salads were executed very well - nice field greens with a sesame/umaboshi dressing, rather than the staid iceberg/ginger trap some more casual places fall into. Efficient service and reasonably priced.
