Supreme Dumplings [San Francisco, Stonestown]

I was in Stonestown today in a futile search for a Labubu at Pop Mart - no dice BTW, you have to preorder them online if and when you find some in stock apparently. For a late lunch I went to Supreme Dumplings in the mall. Supreme Dumplings is a Seattle based restaurant specializing in XLB, its a bit similar to Din Tai Fung. It opened in Stonestown back in May. I’ve read that there have been some long waits to get in, at least around when they opened, but on a Friday afternoon I didn’t have to wait for a table.

Menus

For some greens I had the Spicy Cucumber Salad ($7.5), which was quite good. The sauce was garlicky and spicy with chili oil, and the cool cucumbers had absorbed a lot of the flavor.

I ordered the Supreme Pork Xiao Long Bao ($13 for 8), natch. These were pretty good XLB. They were fat and filled with soup. The wrappers were medium thick, not too delicate and not too thick. One quibble - the soup spoons provided were a bit too small and not the optimal size to hold the fat XLB

I also had the Pork Chop Fried Rice ($16), which was also quite good. The egg fried rice was well executed - no clumps, not too oily. The thin bone-in pork chop on top was quite tender, pretty flavorful, and lightly fried. I think the exterior could have been a bit crispier though.

In summary, from this one visit - pretty good XLB and pork chop fried rice, though I wouldn’t wait a long time to eat there.
