Hiiiiiiiiiiii! Good to see you here.
Interesting discussion; I tend to buy the same items week after week and do most of my shopping at ShopRite, but there are a couple of things I consistently get from Wegmans - fresh cauliflower and their ‘family pack’ of pork loin, each piece hermetically sealed in its own little section. Why these two items? Because SR sometimes gets 3.99 or 4.99 for softball sized cauliflower, whereas Wegmans always has huge heads of it - always for 2.99 each. The pork is just convenient because the expiration date is usually a couple of weeks out thanks to the packaging AND the pieces are generally consistent in size.
The other handful of items I get at Wegmans because SR (even w their massive shelf space) doesn’t carry them - like (ATTN @Roro1831) Tazo DECAF Chai tea bags. That said, when I’m in there for a couple of things, I always end up w a few more, and I’ve generally found their house branded items to be as good as the brand names - but having tried to do my full regular shopping there, I miss too many brand names, which is why I’m still a SR customer.
I’ve had a problem with Sabra as well. I am looking for the individually packaged containers, and still can’t find them locally at all.
Have you tried Costco for those?
Oh, I never thought of that! I will check that out!! Thanks!
Just checked out the same day delivery, no Sabra, but they do have Kirkland. The only downside…20 cups! Not the six or eight Sabra had.
I hope it’s a looooong expiration period!
I’m assuming you are talking about the SR in Neptune, just out of curiosity have you ever shopped at the “dollar” store in that strip mall? “Dollar Power” I think is the name? While it’s not really a $1.00 store, it is an addicting place. lol If I’m in the area I’ll stock up on toiletries if nothing else, yes I’m probably buying complete Chinese knockoff body-washes and deodorant’s but hey, they work!!!
On a serious note, I’ve actually bought my family room rug (approx 8X10) - bathroom mirror (we re-did our main guest bath, and I had several mirrors of $$$ of dollars and we wound up finding a $19.99 wall mirror here that fit the bathroom perfectly) and a few other “big ticket” items that we were able to source for much less there. lol
So funny - yes, I’m at the Neptune SR at least once a week, but I’ve never checked out that Dollar store - will certainly poke my head in!
And did you see they’re putting a Carvel in there? Just starting the buildout, but that’s dangerous - I absolutely love a soft-serve vanilla cone!
Interesting - and just one example of how/why we’ve seen food prices increase; I’ve certainly noticed it and it doesn’t matter what store I’m in, including Costco.
I haven’t been checking as much, but covid is over!! Let’s go out and eat.
Miss all my hos!!
Hummus freezes well so it may make sense to buy the large container and repackage it into individual sized containers for the freezer. That’s assuming you have room in the freezer.
Interesting! Thanks for posting this.
Carvel could be very handy when/if Zen Leaf becomes more than a medical marijuana dispensary.
Hahahaha I was going to mention Zenleaf but decided not to “go there”. I’ll be perfectly honest; I got my medical card during the pandemic. Being on lockdown meant I had extreme boredom which often included excessive day drinking. (yes I had this epiphany as I was walking my dog in the morning, in my pj’s with a screwdriver in my hand)
I started to experiment a bit, and honestly at the first of the year stopped drinking and rely on THC now as my only inebriant. Similar to drinking (now that the pandemic is over) I only “use” on the weekends but it’s “enough” to take the edge off like drinking did. I still personally enjoy being drunk far more than “high” but I also would like to live a longer life than I will if I continue to drink the way I do/did.
I really hate growing up! (as I giggle telling people I use weed)
I have taken to making my own, which comes out great, now just have to add the toppings for the supremely spicy
Supply chain, of course!
Now, I didn’t know that! I will keep that in mind when I pick up my next batch! Thanks!
I appreciate your candor, @NotJrvedivici ! There have been studies that say in states where marijuana has been legalized, drinking and other drug usage has gone down significantly. You are definitely a man ahead of the curve!
I like Talenti, bit C****t on a crutch, they’re hard to open! The last one s I bought (and they will be the last ones I buy) took me at least five minutes each and involved multiple types of jar openers and an actual wrench to get open.
I’m glad to hear you’ve found a way to meet your needs. Don’t tell The Sprout but when I was her age I always preferred THC to C2H5OH.
