Absolutely! Yes, you’ll just have to put my phone number in at the register. I’m thrilled that it won’t go to waste! Just look for a DM…
I just got home from ShopRite (aberdeen) and completely forgot to check if I am eligible for a free ham. I think I am. If anyone else is interested, PM me and I’ll give you my number. The areas that were wiped out 2 weeks ago were replenished. Plenty of flour, yogurt, milk. I needed napkins but didn’t see anything. Limited other paper products. Signs warning about possible shortages on beef but seemed like plenty (and limit 2 per person). Some gaps in fresh chicken. No chicken thighs. Frozen foods seemed fine too. Limits on frozen veggies but I was able to get 4 bags of frozen broccoli for my in-laws. Successful trip overall.
I’ve “earned” a free ham/turkey, etc too but won’t have a chance to get to ShopRite to pick it up. If anyone can use it please let me know.
I got home a couple of hours ago, and concur. I’m glad I didn’t bother to check for napkins (I’m having knee problems so the less walking up and down aisles I do, the better.) They had a few packages of tofu and of frozen peas, both of which have been AWOL the last couple of times, as well as ordinary brown rice in reasonable-sized bags. There seemed to be plenty of kosher chicken (though the case is smaller than the regular meat case, and there are limits on purchases).
They also had hand sanitizer, masks, and gloves for sale across from Dunkin Donuts.
Thanks to Curlz for the free kosher roaster! (I would have tried the Tofurkey, but apparently Aberdeen doesn’t carry it.) Which reminds me, there were also a lot of frozen whole chickens and turkeys, both kosher and non-kosher.
Happy you were able to use that, Evelyn!
We might have passed each other and didn’t even know it. These darn masks!!! My neighbor recognized me but I wouldn’t have been able to figure out who he was!
I went to the Asian Food Market in Marlboro today on the recommendation of @Ct.ebner84 in the What’s For Dinner thread. I got there about 2:45. The store was pretty empty of shoppers though there were a few, most of whom seemed to always be where I wanted to be as well. The meat counter was empty though there was some prepackaged meat and there was very little in the fish department. The rest of the store felt light but I did find everything I was looking for including Thai Basil, snow peas, Kewpie Mayo, and Jasmine rice among other things.
No one in Wegman’s line for the second time this week. Aunt Jemima Buttermilk Complete on the shelf. Covid over.
Ha! I’m alternating shopping weeks with a friend, and he went to Wegmans (Ocean) on Wednesday afternoon (4:15ish)…said he didn’t wait long to get in, and the store was fully stocked. It’s the first time they had almost everything one of us was looking for (including TP). He did say they were still low/almost out of liquid hand soap (something about only having a girly-smelling flavor) and cleaning supplies.
Thanks for this update. I’ve been needing to get there, and it’s good to know 1) it’s open, and 2) it’s not crowded, and 2) it seems to have a fair amount of stuff.
No problem. I knew you, and probably others, were interested. There definitely were some empty shelves but I guess not anything I was interested in or needed (2 different things). Thy did have plenty of Maesri curry pastes and sauces.
I missed this yesterday, but I was at Asian Food Market yesterday as well. I got there right at 9 am and they opened on time to no line. I got almost everything I needed including three different kinds of tofu and some Japanese curry as well as Panang curry paste. The workers were all masked and very polite.
I did notice some things weren’t in stock, like the usual packs of mushrooms (although they had some varieties) and also no cooked food obviously.
The freezers were the biggest disappointment as they were decimated, but even my usual frozen go-to’s are not necessities.
TONS of Funfetti pancake mix at ShopRite in Aberdeen. Also, gloves and hand sanitizer. But nobody cares about that since Covid is over! No napkins still.
I’m reading sarcasm?
LOL, yes! Just echoing @angela
REPEAT, I AM NOT A DOCTOR! I don’t even play one on TV!
Angela posts ‘covid over’ and now we’ll see fb posts saying Murphy is opening all the restaurants.
Wait…covid is over??
Covid will never be over. Either will be cancer, heart disease, tuberculosis, asthma, shingles, H1N1, sepsis, malaria, pick your poison. If you want to stay in the cage we all jumped in without a fight, be my guest…stay there. The rest of us have to get fucking back to work. The government needs dependents. btw, I hate a Trump, as much as I hate the rest of Trenton, Washington, Albany, etc. If you let them scare you, they win. Get out, wear a mask if you want, but don’t tell me that I’m disrespecting the medical community. I watched USS Mercy sail away, had friends working at PNC testing facility beg us to come get tested because they “needed the numbers”. Yes, I’m buzzed, but I am pissed, and stunned that we bought into this bullshit. A self imposed depression. But don’t worry, not your problem, your grandkids will pay for it, right?
Anyhoo, I used to hate Sickle’s but now I don’t. They are doing a fantastic job.
I should have just posted about the Aunt Jemima’s pancake mix.
