Super Duper Weenie, Fairfield still has it...

We were on our way to an over night stay in the Connecticut River Valley and stopped off for some road food at Super Duper Weenie in Fairfield, just off 95. We got there late morning so there was not a crowd. Gary, one of the owners, was behind the counter. We ordered a Californian and a Dixie along with French fries. It was as good as I remember it. Hot dog and toppings tasty. Gary mentioned how he had started with a hot dog truck 27 years ago…

Yes, -
As good as the name is,the original name was even better “Super Duper Weenie Wagon”. I still have a “collection” of their menu, once the store front opened- small fold out glossy business size cards with their own super weenie man in costume on the front. My only complaint is that Frank Pepe’s (fairfield) is very close. It is far superior to Yonkers, and if i drive to sdw,a hot dog isn’t enough and pizza and hot dog is too much

Best dog I have tried in CT and you should try the burger next time, real hidden gem.

I agree, that is a problem. But you could always get two dogs…
