I had some time to occupy yesterday so I stopped in to Sunset Fried Chicken, which is a little counter tucked into the new Rachel’s Ginger Beer space on 12th Ave E.

I had the picante, which lived up to its name thanks to pickled jalapenos. The chicken was nice and juicy. I felt the $9 sandwich was a little small, I’m not so into the soft squishy buns, and the coleslaw tried to escape all over the place so it was a bit of a mess. Still, it was not overly mayo-d or oily (perhaps the upside of portion control), and the slaw did add a nice crunch so it was good eats over all but won’t be my new obsession.
