I’ve expressed mixed emotions about Sugidama in the past, but I’m now firmly in the fan camp. I’d mentioned their reopening on Elm here:
and went there soon after for pickup. I’ve had their food at least eight times since. Of the dishes I’ve had recently, I like their tempura (really nice, clean frying), their sushi/sashimi (although I’d be happy if they took the gold leaf off the toro – we get that it’s a luxury item – and a few dollars off the price), and their skewers. When available, the soft-shell crab has always been very good. My last foray was last week, and it won’t be my last.
