The Royal Nawaab will be well known to folk south of the city centre. It used to occupy and old cinema space in Levenshulme. There were banqueting suites on the upper floors - we went once for a birthday party of one of my wife’s ex-colleagues (a Sri Lankan). But it’s main draw was the enormous buffet on the ground floor. That’s enormous in the extent of the buffet and enormous by the number of folk it could seat - hundreds of us.
Well, know it’s coming a bit further down the A6 to Stockport. And it’s going to occupy the town’s “Pyramid” - a white elephant development if ever there was one. It’s bound to make an impact. But, enough of me whittering on, here’s what the Manchester Evening News has to say about the conversion from office space for the Co-Op Bank to mega buffet/banqueting space.
