The restaurant had been recommended for its buckwheat gallettes, which is the local speciality. So, that was two of them, filled with cheese, with the “Italian” one topped with burrata, speck and salad, and the “Normande” one with salad and “lard”(bacon). Very decent lunch.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I prefer the words - don’t forget I’m an author in real life. But there are practical reasons. I don’t have a mobile phone and don’t usually have my camera with me when we eat out. But St Malo was different - no food pics but…

Since you’re in Saint-Malo, you may enjoy Le Bistrot du Rocher, in the Intra-Muros.
Outside of the walls, do not miss L’Atelier de la Crêpe, the crêpier school restaurant, an interesting pseudopod of the Breizh Café concept.
Try Otonali (in Saint-Malo) or La Table Breizh Café (in Cancale) for the Breton-Japanese vibe.
