Spring harvest of ramps, fiddleheads and morels at Bernard's, Ridgefield...

After an airy Sunday drive, we decided on an early French dinner at Bernard’s in Ridgefield, CT. and it was a revelation. Had not visited in a while. Seasonal ramps, fiddlehead ferns, morels… black truffles and foie gras were all over the menu. Savored our appetizers of Crusted Sweetbreads loaded with ramps and ferns, and light pillows of Sage Gnudi surrounded by more of these seasonal gems. Swooned over our main courses of Crusted Halibut and Tournedo of Salmon. All complemented by a lovely half bottle of ‘Baron Margaux’. Their Chocolate Sampler and Mayer Lemon Samplers were fine dessert indulgences.
We were tempted to order the decadent sounding Truffles and Eggs Sampler, too…perhaps next time. Thanks to Chef Bouissou’s kitchen and the floor staff for their fine service throughout.

I’m so glad you enjoyed it. At my suggestion, Primosprimos is going there for her anniversary in May, and I will follow a week later!
