I roasted potatoes, peeled and chopped, instead of smashing them, since I was using larger potatoes.
2 chopped cloves of garlic, roasted with the potatoes.

What was in the Chop Suey Bun?

It has some candied fruit, cloves and cinnamon inside the bun, and icing on top. I will try to find a recipe. Not too common. It’s somewhere between a Chelsea bun and a hermit.
I’m going to check some community cookbooks. Seems it’s a recipe from the 1950s.
This Chop Suey Bread recipe (since I can’t find a Chop Suey Bun recipe online) looks more like bread, with a lighter texture, than what I purchased
