Spelling Bee Thread — that is totally a (food) word!

Proper noun, right?

As far as the Spelling Bee goes, their definition seems to be pretty willy-nilly.

Thanks! Let me know how you do in Frames!

No tuille or tuile (food) or etui (not food).

And NO LUDDITE? That’s not a word?? WTF.

I thought the same thing!

Which one? The last one is probably the most infuriating (especially since I just found out what those folks are all about :face_with_hand_over_mouth:).

Tuile

and luddite

The blurry function is defeating me today.

I guess it’s not really a spoiler if it’s not a bee word!

No etude either.

I m not surprised that Luddite wasn’t allowed, it’s sort of a proper noun (capitalized according to Merriam Webste).

They did allow etude.

I was not that surprised that tamago wasn’t allowed. But I was surprised that gammon wasn’t allowed.

Can’t look at your spoilers as I haven’t finished the SB for today

Well, neither of them are words allowed today! I was a bit over the top in blurring them.

I just guessed tamago and was shocked it wasn’t allowed.

SHOCKED, I say!

Also, tanga is not a word, but manga is

Sure, SB, sure.

ETA: MAGNETO IS A WORD? IT’S A FLIPPIN’ CARTOON CHARACTER. A CHARACTER’S NAME, FFS!

Since when are proper names allowed?

After ranting about the last word to my PIC I got schooled. That is apparently also a thing, not just a name.

Oops.

Hahahah. When it refused tamago today, I thought “Oh, linguafood is going to have something to say about that”. :joy:
