Spelling Bee Thread — that is totally a (food) word!

A misspelled mako sharc

A few today: boil, imbibe, kibble, lime, milk.

I think we’ve solved the mystery of why you can’t use that word.

Yup. One mystery down, with many to come, no doubt.

Food words today: eaten, naan, panettone, potato, tapa, teapot.

Apropos of no food ar all, every tine I see an I-N-G or an E-N or an E-D or such, I know it’s gonna be a long morning, looking for words to double up. Or prefixes. Meh.

Yeah, not a fan of the gerund / past tense bees, either.

I generally find those to be among the easier ones to solve.

That is one reason I don’t like them as much

And annatto and oaten.

Yeah, I wasn’t entirely sure if they qualify as food words. Probably bc I was thinking “oaken” in my head

Is there a non-food context for annatto?

If there is I wouldn’t know :woman_shrugging:t2:

I just add the word whenever it shows up in the bee. It’s not an ingredient I have used in my own cooking.

Oy. And if you do the SB today, you’ll get the joke.

Didn’t know that - but I don’t get out much these days. Lol. Got them all. Saw a comment about the k-word being spelled differently across the pond.

Yup. Kebab as in Adana kebab or döner kebab (soon to be in our tummies )
