Spelling Bee Thread — that is totally a (food) word!

I always start with the SB, and usually pretty immediately see the pangram (magic brains? eyes? who knows). I try to get to Genius before checking any hints, and ideally not until I am desperate. But I almost always hit Queef Bean

Then it’s on to the mini, midi, Wordle, Connections, NYer Shuffalo.

@small_h you weren’t familiar with that game before? :exploding_head:

I’m extremely familiar with that game.

I wasn’t familiar with one of the terms used in today’s game.

I see.

I might be able to guess which one, or at least there was one I wasn’t familiar with either.

I’m still stuck on yellow and green and kinda salty about it… NGL.

Yoke. Someone explained it to me - so muscular in the neck and shoulders that it looks like you’re wearing a yoke. :light_bulb:

Aha. And yes, that was the one for me.

Even now that I know what it is, I still haven’t gotten beyond yellow & green. Damn.

Hints available upon request.

GAAAAAH I swearz I thought I’d walk away from it for a few hours and have an epiphany, but so far nope.

I’ll ask if I get absolutely desperate, tho!

ETA: Finally got blue, but barely. Purple is just as dumb as ever, but that’s par for the course.

Jeez. Today’s SB musta been one of the easiest in a long time. And only one proper food word.

Lotsa food words today, including the dreaded canola I never guess (along with stoopit penne): ancho, colcannon, conch, the ever-present naan, and nacho.

At least there was no onion today.

Don’t forget nacho.

Yup. That’s in my post.

Welp, obviously I glossed over it!

The only food word today was rotgut.

Grog is food (well, drink - that counts, right?).

You got a point there!
