I always start with the SB, and usually pretty immediately see the pangram (magic brains? eyes? who knows). I try to get to Genius before checking any hints, and ideally not until I am desperate. But I almost always hit Queef Bean 
Then it’s on to the mini, midi, Wordle, Connections, NYer Shuffalo.

Yoke. Someone explained it to me - so muscular in the neck and shoulders that it looks like you’re wearing a yoke.

Lotsa food words today, including the dreaded canola I never guess (along with stoopit penne): ancho, colcannon, conch, the ever-present naan, and nacho.
At least there was no onion today.
