Lobsterlicious is back at Scaramouche, Mondays to Thursdays. $89 without wine.
If click on menus, there is a drop down menu that leads to the lobster.
There is also a lobster salad on the regular dinner menu.
Grilled lobster with beets?!?!? Why, god, why?!?!?
Because it is a quite frequent combination which works very well. You see it in French cooking with roasted beets flavors, there is even a recipe in the French Laundry cookbook with that combination
hahahaha
I love beets.
I would eat it. (I would use butter-poached lobster rather than grilled lobster, but they didn’t consult with me before setting the menu)
I would also eat an Olivye / Olivier made with lobster.
I think Scaramouche might be going after the Russian Splurge demographic, maybe also the Greco- Bohunk Splurge demographic (moi)
Not if beets were the last vegetable on earth. I eat them, but not not not with lobster. No… thank… you.
TorontoJo hates beets. Fickle hates carrots. I haven’t seen these Chowhounds for a long time and I yet I remember their dislikes.
I love beets and loved lobster when I used to eat it but can’t imagine the two in tandem.

A fresh season of wine, food, and conversation
A new line up of wine dinners is on the way at Pukka, hosted by the one and only Peter Boyd. Alongside his seasonal wine programming, we’re excited to welcome two special guest events this year, including a spotlight on the wines of Nals Margreid and the return of a beer pairing dinner with Lauren Richard.
As always, expect thoughtful pairings, lively conversation, and memorable evenings at the table. Seating is limited and tends to book quickly.

Wines of Nals Margreid – $150
February 23
Southern Hemisphere Wines – $200
March 23
Alternative Italy – $200
April 20

Forgot we had this thread. Perhaps it might be a good idea to “pin” limited-time events thread to the top of the list? A one-stop-shop for current events. I’d vote for that.
Available at Burger Jabs this week.
It’s Good Friday on Friday, and fish is what many Catholics and some Protestants eat on Fridays during Lent, and especially on Good Friday.
The Filet o’Fish was created by McD’s franchisee in Ohio, to offer local Catholics an option they could eat during Lent.
Hot Cross Buns (HXB, HCB) are also traditionally eaten on Good Friday. The idea of eating egg -enriched breads, like HXB and Easter Bread, and the other Easter Egg and Easter Bunny symbolism, is to celebrate spring, renewal, and fertility, tying some Pagan themes into Easter celebrations.
Blackbird is posting about their Not Cross Buns which have no cross on top to make their buns more secular, I guess .
I don’t like orange zest so I won’t bother with their Not Cross Buns.
I will post if I see other HXB and Fried Fish Sandos on Instagram.
Honest Weight keeps a nice fried fish sando on their menu all year.
Dough Bake Shop on Danforth always had good Easter baked goods.
Stones NYC is at Belle Isle Apr 19-20. See post for possible dishes: https://www.instagram.com/belleisle__/p/DWkQoAJlc00/
