A new high-end place, La Vela has opened in the Zanhisers marina. It’s on the second floor and the views are almost as good as the food. Great seafood and genuine, top notch saltimbocca. This is a destination restaurant.
Up the Patuxent is Vera’s, on high ground with a 270 degree water view. The food is solid, but the service is a bit slow now-- labor shortage, of course. Last night was our third visit, and it just keeps getting better. The crab cake sandwich ($28) was excellent.
