Soft Shell Crabs hit the market, finally...

I always look forward to this seasonal treat! How do you like them? If dining out, where do you like them?

Was at La Piccola Casa in Mamaroneck (Westchester County, N.Y.) for a quick lunch yesterday, and Walter Ricci, the chef and owner, confided that he would be going to the Hunts Point Market at 1 a.m. this morning to buy his first bushel. His purveyor, M. Slavin Seafood, gave him the word. Apparently, soft shells are now arriving from Florida, and shortly from the Chesapeake in Maryland…
Can’t wait! Soft shell crab is always a treat!
