It’s one of those words which I always struggle with. It shouldn’t be - my secondary school was Burnage Grammar School. Which I managed to spell wrong on my application form for my first job at the local town hall (which I got in spite of the error).

My other “difficult word”, which I always look up before writing is “necessary”. Is it two c’s? Two s’s. Ary or ery at the end.

Undoubtedly. But it really shouldn’t be.

In 8th grade, I was knocked out of the county spelling bee on “chauffeur,” and I’m still so traumatized I can’t spell that word.

Did you successfully post that all caps sentence on its own, and then edit your post to add the rest? If so, you may be right.

Bingo. All discourse platforms I’m on will flag a solely allcaps sentence. You have to put in something else in sentence style.
