Our final 7 nights of this trip in Singapore. Caught a bug on the way in from Malaysia, and was a bit under the weather for a few days. We had nice lodgings in Singapore, so we kicked back and pampered ourselves with a staycation of sorts and availed ourselves of the hospitality and luxury of the hotels.
The Intecontinental Bugis was fully booked and could not accomodate our request for early check-in. Relaxed in the Club Lounge until our room was ready, and enjoyed the daily High Tea.
A spot of TWG Earl Gray for me, Darjeeling for she.
Warm Scones with Clotted Cream and Raspberry Jam. My JAM!!!
Assorted Pastries. My sweets adversed wife requested more Lemon Tarts, that good.
Pass on the Sandos. Fake Truffle Oil, which seemed to permeate every sandwich, ughhh…
Just gimmee some Cucumber or Watercress on crustless bread, we’re simple folk.
Our room was waiting, luggage delivered. Headed to our room to freshen up, and get ready for Social Hour.

The IC Bugis is a lovely time capsule of Old Time elegance.
Before we hit the Club Lounge Happy Hour, we relaxed in the Lobby Lounge to enjoy our complimentary Welcome Drinks. Cabernet Sauvignon for she, a Tiger Beer for me.
A dozen oysters seemed appropriate for the occasion.
Sakoshi Bay Oysters, with migonette. The oysters were PERFECTLY shucked. Every Briny, Delicate morsel glistening in Liquor in an unblemished shell. Some of the best oysters ever!!!
Great Oysters called for a good chilled white. Grecco Di Tufo Feudi Di San Gregorio, a crisp fresh, acidic white.
Service and ambiance speaks of old world elegance. Back up to the Club for Happy Hour!!!

I’ve coined the term “Golden Handcuff” for our complimentary club lounge access priviledge. Way too easy to just hang in for breakfast, high tea AND happy hour. Rather defeats the purpose of travelling to explore a foreign country.
I was just recovering from an illness, my excuse for staying in-house more than usual.
The Club Lounge staff was outstanding at this property. Great Bar.
No surprise, the staff made a great Singapore Sling!!!
Daily changing Canapes for each evening.
A nice selection of tidbits to go with our Slings.
Best bite was the Octopus with Yellow Radish and Yuzu.
A couple of levels up from the usual bar happy bites of nachos and Cheetos.
