[Singapore] Breakfast options at Forty Hands, Tiong Bahru

Forty Hands in the hipster neighbourhood of Tiong Bahru has been one of my regular breakfast hangout spots since its opening in Oct 2010. 7 years down, the place seemed to have mellowed down, but its artisanal coffee blends and inventive breakfast plates, including the ever-popular Dongpo pork with steamed mantou buns (called “kong bak pau” in Singapore) are all still there.

Our breakfast options this morning:

  1. Eggs Benedict with bacon & sauteed baby spinach, and a side of spicy, roasted potatoes.

  1. Poached salmon in creamy potato-mustard sauce, with pan-fried onions and pepita toast.

  1. “Kong bak pau” - my personal fave.

The place is no longer crazy-crowded, but it still can get packed on weekends at breakfast/brunch periods.
