Silliness and Food Funnies for 2024

Christ I hate that movie. Fortunately, so too does Lindy West:

I enjoyed it when it first came out — some story lines more than others, but it didn’t age very well, and it’s overall a little too saccharine for me (like most romcoms).

IIRC there were some genuinely funny moments, but too much cringe to rewatch.

Just tried to read her rant, but couldn’t finish. I usually like Lindy West but… yikes. That’s a lot of wasted energy on a movie she didn’t like.

Also, my link disproves her assessment that only the women are silent. E.g. Heike Makatsch talks quite a bit, and Karl The Wondershlong (see above) has maybe 3 lines.

It’s not a good movie.

Is it the Doubtful Guest? I’m a big fan of that kind of vaguely ominous writing. AA Milne is another favorite, not so much for Pooh but for poems like The Four Friends.

I think they are fantastic words. But then, I never liked the film-- it was out of date then.

“Brilliant Think Minds Alike.”

Hokay. Maybe not so brilliant

Is a cube of hay outside a church a Christian Bale?

I just finished writing my book on penguins.
My publisher said it would’ve been better if I’d written it on paper.
