Dropping by to say how much I appreciate this thread.
When the craziness of our world starts getting to me, I dip in here for a break. Or when I want to procrastinate, which is what I am doing right now.
Wait - I don’t understand, what kind of chopping board do you use for cheese and meat?
My youngest daughter often buys sweeet taters when she’s home and then forgets about them in the pantry. Thank goodness the sweet taters usually grow a Mullet instead of rotting like regular taters do.
I sent her this pic at college with the caption, “Come Back Home To Me, Mommy!!!”.
My grandmother and mother cut like that. No board. Paring knife, against the thumb. I never learned the technique. I just watched in terror …
For raw fish and meat I use a board made of polyethylene. Problem is that the material chips when I use a little force breaking poultry for example. Will go back to a dedicated wooden board.
I got a plastic board once a long time ago; it was very hard compared to wood, not soft like those PE boards. It was a real edge killer and I don’t know why I got it - maybe the sanitary scare mongering about wood in the '90s…
I’ve got 3 end grain heavy monsters now and several thinner edge grain boards. Three of them I found thrifting and am refurbing (just sand/stain) for daughters.
I’ve never had one like the soft round one in your Chinese people meme, but at least some members here have mentioned having one.
This is great. “MacDonald’s,” though?
It has been, but it’s worth a repost just for the notion of the hunter having a Siamese Retriever.
Who looks like our chonkster’s skinny cousin
Yeah, I thought it might’ve, but I was too lazy to scroll through 700+ posts.
I remember being around 8, and wanting a burger when we were somewhere in Michigan that served lake fish, and I have a vague memory that the server offered to get me a burger from McDonald’s.
The biggest problem with those Chinese boards is that they eat up a LOT of storage space!
Wow, what a display! That’s MF’n gorgeous!
