I dunno - if I’m in a diner and get called sweetie, sweetheart, lovey, honey, etc., as in “What can I getcha, honey?”, I just let it go. It just seems “right” for a place like that, I guess. Then again, I’m female, and it’s usually a female saying it to me so I don’t have the same issue this woman did.
