I’ll have a short work trip to Paris next week, staying in the 9th near Opera. I haven’t been to this area in a long time, as I usually stay in the 6th. As I won’t be staying long (3 nights) I want to do most things by walking or if needed an uber. Some lunches and dinners will be solo, and some will be by invitation for business. I’m looking for some pointers as to the solo meals.
I’ll arrive at my hotel Monday evening, around 8PM. After checking in, I was hoping to visit Cafe des Ministeres. Heard many good things, never been, and of course impossible to get a reservation at the last minute. Would they do a solo walk in at say 8.30PM on a Monday evening?
My alternative for this Monday evening would be nearby Au Petit Tonneau.
I’ll probably have one solo lunch, and my pick would be Le Griffonnier, near the Maison Elysee. Anyone been recently?
And then I have one extra solo dinner. I was thinking of any of the below. Some tips? Should I do one of the below instead of Au Petit Tonneau? Thanks!
From your list, it seems you are more into traditional or bistrot cooking. Perception is serving tasting menu - small plates: French dishes with Korean twists.
Keenly observed. I wouldn’t have picked it out myself, but seeing the broad support here, I might as well check it out? I’m still not 100% sure - I’ll also try whether I can still book some of the other places, and then make a decision tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest. Reservations for Perception seem quite manageable.
@damiano - after two great meals at Le Cafe de l’Usine, I expected not to love Parcelles as much as I did after our first time there in November of last year, but I was wrong.
We just had another great experience and think it is worth a visit.
