Haven’t been to Shipley much in recent years, and mostly went there for kolaches (sausage+cheese+jalapeno) for breakfast.
Haven’t been to Whataburger since before I retired in 2005 I think. I’ve seen a lot about it going downhill since the big sale but can’t offer an opinion. I thought it went downhill after they abandoned their claim about not starting to prepare your burger until you ordered it, which made their drive-thrus extreeeeemely slow.
I’m not a donut person but my husband loves Shipley Donuts. Swears there’s no better donut under the sun. Still warm from the fryer. Doubt they’ll change things up much.
As for Whataburger, other than steadily rising prices, I haven’t noticed a decline in quality since The Big Sale. My two favorites (Whatacatch & chicken fajita taco) are only available during Lent now. But the rest of the menu has pretty much stayed the same.
