Interesting. I’ll probably tune in for the first episode or two. But I don’t really miss her on TC–I actually prefer Kristen. Maybe Padma and the whole TC franchise were just wearing on me?
I like them both
No mention of a new show (she notes all she was offered was “hands and pans”
), but a new cookbook.
Padma went to a Catholic school in Queens, I went to a Catholic school in Queens! Can’t find where she went.

I recognized Beverly from the dreaded Top Chef Texas.
Watched the first episode of America’s Culinary Cup last night. I was curious to know what others think. I did realize I’m not a Padma fan. She seems kind of full of herself. I much prefer Kristen Kish on Top Chef.
Do you mean what is thought of the show, or of Padma.
I’d rather stick with the show and say it took a few attempts to get through, but I will watch more episodes, hoping to get to the part with the cooking. I’m thinking they are just “culling the herd” right now.
Since there was no activity on this thread I resorted to Reddit, where the history of the other competitions on the channel helped me make sense of this one.
This might capture it.

It’s hard to avoid drawing comparison with Top Chef, but there are plenty of differences.
I appreciated that they picked the sweet potato dish I thought was going to win. Makes me think I will appreciate it more when there’s more cooking.
Not a fan of how Buddha came across.
II was wondering what people thought of the show.

If you have seen the premier of this seasons Top Chef, it would be hard not to “go there”.
I watched the first episode. I thought some of efforts to make it different from Top Chef were a little gimmicky (e.g. gamesmanship v cooking skills), but it was ok and I’ll continue to watch.
