Shake Shack [Princeton]

I’ve only had a Shake Shack burger maybe once or twice before— probably both times in Philly, but it’s been a while. We didn’t feel like a major sit-down meal, having relatively early dinner plans, and who could say ‘no’ to a nice boygah for lunch? Zackly!

Very clean, bright space — although completely nondescript from the outside, the entire building being painted slate-gray including the sign, which almost had us drive past it.

We each got a single, mine with bacon, and split an order of crinkle fries.

The burgers were nice: the patties maybe a little on the dry side, but we also didn’t need a super-greasy gut bomb to start the day.

That said, they have nothing on Goldie’s smashburgers in Berlin.

Really liked the fries, even tho I usually don’t care for crinkle cut fries. These were piping hot, crispy on the outside, floffy on the inside, with the requisite amounts of mayo and ketchup :yum:

When they were not conveniently located for me, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to partake when I happened to be in proximity to one in NYC or one of their few Jersey locations. Now that they have proliferated (Old Bridge opened this past week) and I pass the one in North Brunswick regularly when I shop at the nearby Costco and/or BJs, for some reason I don’t even consider stopping in.

Well, this was a positive experience, but I take it yours was elsewhere.

Yes it was in Freehold a quaint little town in Monmouth County

Seems to go against the whole chain concept of providing an identical experience at every branch. Bummer.
