About 10 years ago, Senor Ramon started off with a window and small counter inside a brewery from which they sold very good tacos.
Flash forward to now and they have four locations - all squeaky clean franchise-ready brick and mortar. We got tacos al pastor, borrega, carne asada, and pescado. Plus we ordered a pile of corn nuggets. Like chicken nuggets, but with corn instead.
The nuggets saved the day. They were impressively breaded with a thin and crackling crust and were a completely value-added proposition.
The tacos:
I couldn’t really tell what the stew-like borrega was. Looked like the stew-like al pastor. Both shredded meat. No trompo was used in the making of this.
The fish was especially chintzy with the fish and was thoroughly under-seasoned. The carne asada was crispy but not juicy. All tortillas were room-temp and uninteresting.
Moving on.
