As an aside and off-topic, when you are visiting your son here in the Boston burbs maybe you might enjoy trying Moody’s over in Waltham (where the charcuterie in my photo came from). Moody’s sandwiches are a treat and could make for a fun lunch.
Thank you for the suggestion. I know I will be back first wknd in November so maybe then. We kept circling Natick for eggplant parm at Comella’s, ice cream in Wellsley and Thai near Fenway. This time, I did a great deal of baking and preparing his freezer with starter meals while he was at work.
Next time I hope to dig into a local diner new the seaport and a Russsian deli outside of Natick.
Now, I will add Moodys.
Sorry it’s taken so long to respond. Not wanting to delay things further while I wrote out the recipe again, here’s a ink to a newsletter from a great cheese shop in Santa Barbara (Julia L-D likes it, too). What’s the connection to ice cream? Download the letter and scroll away…
This question was originally asked of farmers markets, but let me stretch this thread slightly (the expanded question doesn’t deserve its own) and ask if anybody knows where little gem might be found anywhere in the GBA, market or super-. Restaurants seem to find it (Gufo, Harvest, the restaurant at the MFA – to name a few places where we’ve had it recently), but WF does not seem to carry it nor Market Basket nor any other place I’ve looked. Only Eataly lists it, as far as I can see.
I’m not local to you, but here (N.Cal), I resorted to growing my own.
Do you ship?
No, but I could tell you where I got my seeds!
I did wonder why it wasn’t offered much in supermarkets.
ETA It now seems to be at our Safeway. Good luck!
