I’m not too proud to ask! Husband calls it “The Torture Show”.
I’ve decided this one is about seeing what “the usual suspects” are up to. I think there are now as many chefs I know from Top Chef as I know from Food Network!
I didn’t know Alex Stupak; “one of New York’s most celebrated chefs”, apparently because I am not a chef! He points out he last competed when judge Michael Symon became an Iron Chef.
I stopped watching food network when it turned into all sensationalized competition shows with little food content, but I’m curious why established chefs participate in their style of shows. Guessing it is for publicity for their restaurants? Prize money isn’t that much for this one.
(Also “endurance” seems to be along the lines of the many negatives being highlighted about fine dining kitchen culture.)
