I have the BernzOmatic TS8000 with the Searzall. I’ll look for one of those wider propane bottles to see how that works. Will keep you informed.

Been a long time since I used my Searzall. Wasn’t thrilled with the torch taste to try to achieve the crust which is better using more conventional methods

I use mine a fair bit, but it’s not an ideal tool for working large areas. Better than a pinpoint tip, mind you, but I use it mostly for tough-ups and evening up browning/melting. I’ll occasionally use it to start the “up” side of a steak or chop while the “down” side is searing.
I haven’t noticed any torch taste. Have you tried adjusting the gap?

Had a grouper sandwich last night at a place that’s usually very good when we’ve been there. Asked for it grilled not blackened. Looked like it came out of a SV bath. White with no evidence of crust or char
