Obviously scone is correct, otherwise it would be spelled scon. And that pronunciation grates.
I pronounce it like gone…i was lectured in a tea shop in Bosham on the East Sussex coast (as far south as you can get) that only ignorant foreigners pronounce it otherwise.
Friends from norf and south have bemoaned the glottal stop as a sure sign of being a chav…and frankly it grates on my ears.
Best not come up to Scotland, then.
