But the menu runs the gamut of nearly 5 different continents.
We have deep fried Mars bars, to hamburgers, to teriyaki stir fry, to fish and chips to Linguine Pesto Alfredo and we round off the menu with half a dozen selections of Schnitzel.
I stopped at Impressions Bakery again, where I picked up an apple pie, sesame sourdough, dinner rolls, a sticky bun, 2 apple fritters, an Americano and a cappuccino.
I stopped in Listowel today, and stocked up on frozen lamb stew meat, lamb ribs, chicken thighs, bacon, Italian sausage and butter at McIntosh Farm’s butcher shop. Amazing value.
I also stopped at Impressions Bakery, again. I stop any time I drive through Listowel Tuesday to Saturday. The bakery is closed on Sundays and Mondays . I think the staff are beginning to recognize me.
I bought another lemon cruller, some hand pies, dinner rolls, and a few small pies for the freezer. They make good granola, too.
Off, but on topic, I offer this to our Hungry Schnitzel Seeker. If you find yourself in Bowmanville, make sure you lunch at Norm’s Delicatessen. Usually I find it the most boring part of my plate. This had me shoving my pierogies and cabbage roll aside for another bite of properly seasoned, crisply crusted, and tender pork schnitzel. https://www.normsdelicatessen.ca/
Don’t do it. Years ago under the original owners, Sauters Inn was great for my bestie’s wedding reception. The decor was very Fachwerkhaus. The food was made with care.
The current owners closed off that room and now serve in what can best be described as forgotten cafeteria. The food seems as though made by someone who looked at a picture and then guessed. The wine list is the lowest form of plonk. Its in my Top 3 worst Durham dining experiences which is really saying something.
For schnitzel Prague, drive like hell, Norm’s Delicatessen.
